Mr. Bloomstein’s practice is concentrated on the defense of complex medical malpractice matters from the commencement of the lawsuit up through and including trial.
Within the area of medical malpractice defense, Mr. Bloomstein currently represents several major hospitals, multi-specialty groups and individual physicians in lawsuits pending throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland and upstate counties. Current matters being handled include a variety of complex medical issues leading to claimed catastrophic injuries, including: alleged obstetrical and gynecological mismanagement; the claimed failure to diagnose breast cancer, melanoma and other malignancies; alleged general, vascular and orthopedic surgical negligence; claimed substandard emergency room, PACU and ICU care; and the alleged misinterpretation of radiologic studies and lab results.
Additionally, he was a member of the firm's toxic tort defense team for the World Trade Center 9/11 Debris Removal Litigation pending in the Southern District.
Mr. Bloomstein graduated from Rutgers College and earned his law degree from Pace University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, served as an editor of the law review and was a moot court finalist. He is admitted to the state courts of New York and New Jersey, as well as to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and for New Jersey. He has been a partner with the firm since 2002.
Mr. Bloomstein also serves as a trustee of the Half Hollow Hills Community Library.
