Scott I. Mendelsohn, Associate

Scott Mendelsohn graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 2008. Mr. Mendelsohn has served as both a New York City and New York State prosecutor and has extensive litigation and trial experience. In 2008, he was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney with the Queens County District Attorney’s Office where he was employed until 2013. Thereafter, Mr. Mendelsohn accepted a position with the New York City Police Department where he provided counsel to the Chief of Detectives on major crime investigations and trained detectives on investigative procedure. In 2016, Mr. Mendelsohn was appointed as an Assistant Attorney General with the New York State Attorney General’s Office where he was a founding member of the Real Estate Enforcement Unit charged with investigating and prosecuting white collar crimes including bank fraud, mortgage fraud, deceptive lending practices, money laundering, and large scale schemes to defraud.  As a prosecutor, Mr. Mendelsohn handled and tried numerous cases including violent felonies and business crimes.

Mr. Mendelsohn has also worked for a boutique commercial litigation firm where he tried multiple cases to successful verdicts. Mr. Mendelsohn has represented business entities and condominium/co-op boards in complex litigation.

At ARFD, Mr. Mendelsohn practices various areas of law including Medical Malpractice Litigation, Construction/Commercial Litigation, White Collar Criminal Litigation, and General Liability Litigation.
