Yanique L. Burke, Partner

Yanique Burke specializes in the defense of hospitals, physicians, specialists and other health care professionals against claims of medical malpractice.  She represents a number of hospitals in the New York metropolitan area in some of their most complex and high exposure cases.  These include the defense of ophthalmology, radiology and surgical care.

Previously, Ms. Burke defended various specialists against dental malpractice claims, as well as a number of corporate clients in premises liability lawsuits.   She also has the experience of having litigated various property matters and intentional torts claims.  Her successful appeal of an award of a summary judgment in a civil rights action was published on the front page of the New York Law Journal.

Ms. Burke graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  She subsequently obtained her law degree from Albany Law School.  She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the United States Supreme Court, as well as the United States District Court for the  Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Ms. Burke is an avid long distance runner and has completed an ultramarathon and a number of marathons.  She is a member of the New York Road Runners Club and the National Black Marathoners Association.  She was also inducted into the Marathon Maniacs club for having completing at least three marathons in less than 90 days.  She also enjoys traveling and learning foreign languages.
